A family session that feels like you

No two families are alike – and no two sessions should feel alike either. Some families arrive playful and relaxed, others are more reserved and formal. Children may be shy one moment and bouncing with energy the next. My role is not to impose a template, but to tune into who you are, so that the pictures reflect your real connection.
This ability of mine comes from a lifelong skill I did not fully appreciate until adulthood: people-reading. I was raised across four countries, constantly switching languages, schools and social codes. Reading people – noticing tone, posture, energy and what makes someone feel at ease – became second nature, like a sixth sense.
Today, this instinct guides every session I photograph. I can tell when a child needs a moment to warm up, when parents may prefer gentle direction, or when to step back and let laughter unfold naturally. For some families, I give detailed, step-by-step direction to take away all the guesswork, for others, I hold the space more lightly and let them lead the rhythm. Either way, the atmosphere always feels effortless.
The result is a set of photographs that don’t feel staged or forced – they feel like you. Pictures that capture your family’s personality in its truest form, whether that is tender, exuberant, elegant or wonderfully all of the above.
Because the best photographs aren’t about performing for the camera – they are about being yourself, and knowing someone understands how to bring that out.
